Lindy Crandall: Bio

Lindy Crandall

Hi, I'm Lindy. I am nineteen years old and was born on Feb. 12, 1990 in Thousand Oaks CA. I grew up in TO with my mom, Dad, and older sister for most of my childhood, before moving to San Diego when I was twelve.

Coming from a musical family (my mom plays sax/flute, my dad guitar, and my sister piano), I started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. I can't remember a time when I did not love to sing and did so all the time, but I began singing lessons when I was eleven. I discovered my love for writing when I got my first diary in first grade - often times creating stories instead of writing notes like a good girl to pass agonizing class-time away. However, this finally paid off in third grade when my english teacher was teaching poetry. Instantly, I was hooked - writing poems nonstop for the next few years until I was eleven. It was then, that I found my calling.

My first song I wrote the day of september 11, 2001. School had just started, and the teacher asked us to write whatever came to us concerning the events that had occurred that morning.
A song, is what came to me.
Then, we had to share.
Performing has always come naturally to me- however, to this day, I still remember how badly my voice and hands were shaking as I nervously sung "Life" for the first time.
I didn't stop there. Thanks to the support of my mom, I sung the song for my piano teacher who showed me how to write music to my lyrics and melodies.
I have been doing so ever since. =]
So far, I have a total of 29 finished/performable songs, and I plan on finishing number 30 tonight.

Music is my calling, and as long as I am alive, I will continue singing, playing, and writing.
